Our phones account for a lot of distractions throughout the day. It’s very easy and tempting to scroll through your favorite social media to relax before bed. Then, before you know it, the sun has come back up and you’ve lost your much-needed 8 hours! Turning your phone off at bedtime can help you get to sleep on time and feel more refreshed! Avoiding your phone in the mornings can also keep you from spending the first part of your day in bed, endlessly scrolling when you could be doing other things.
5. Drink Milk Before Sleeping
Everyone has heard of a warm cup of milk being able to soothe a rough night and help you drift off to sleep, so are there benefits to drinking milk every night? Turns out, yes! Milk contains an amino acid, tryptophan, that promotes better and longer-lasting sleep! It also has melatonin, which is said to contribute to burning calories during sleep and promoting weight loss. Double-win!
6. Get Enough Sleep
This one may not be a surprise, but it is one of the most important contributors to having a good morning. Not getting enough sleep can lead to headaches, irritability, grogginess, poor concentration, and a lack of energy that lasts all day! Making sure to give yourself time to sleep and not staying up late is the best way to make you feel better in the mornings.
7. Prepare the Night Before
Save yourself time and energy in the morning and prepare things the night before! Lay out your clothes for the next day, set out school supplies or work materials before bed so you can spend more of your mornings to yourself and doing other productive things.

Starting your day with a nice self-care regimen can help build self-esteem and better mental health! Incorporating things like reading, exercise, and journaling are all ways to relax before beginning your day. Also, don't over schedule your mornings so you have plenty of time to get everything done without feeling rushed.
9. Leave Your House on Time
Traffic is always unpredictable, and leaving home late only makes matters worse. The stress of being late can affect your entire day and even have serious consequences! Giving yourself enough time to accomplish everything you need to in the mornings will ensure you are on-time for everything you need to be.
