How to Read Faster

Many people choose not to read because of the time it takes. Some of these people also have a fear because it may take them a while to read something, and then on top of it, they find themselves not understanding what they just read. Reading absolutely does take time, but it's totally worth it. As far as compression is concerned, the best thing to do is to practice. Read, read, and read some more - that's the best way to get better.

Check out this quick video for a few tips on how to increase your reading speed, and then continue below for a review:

Ok, now let's review:

  1. Don’t take your eyes all the way across - Draw a line on each side of the page and go only to that line. You peripheral vision will read the other words.
  2. Use a Pacer - Our eyes jump from line to line automatically. Using a pacer will help you stay on the desired line.
  3. Read a little faster than normal - The only way to get better is to do things outside of your comfort zone until you become comfortable. After you are comfortable at that pace, go a little faster.

Give this a shot - it's definitely worth it. When you cover more pages in a shorter amount of time, that will encourage you to read more. Make sure to leave your favorite book in the comments below, & share this video with the readers in your life!
